A high level Indian delegation led by Hon’ble Minister for Food Processing Industries, Smt. Harsimrat Kaur, is visiting Dubai from 16-18 February, 2020 for Gulfood 2020. Hon’ble Minister will be inaugurating the India Pavilion at Gulfood 2020 on 16 February 2020.
India Pavilion in Gulfood 2020 will be spread over 4,500 square meters and over 300 Indian companies will showcase a diverse array of food products, including pulses, grains & cereals; beverages; meat & poultry; dairy; health & wellness brands; and fats & oils, amongst others. Government of India is represented at the Gulfood 2020 with APEDA (Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority), Tea Board India, Coffee Board India, Coconut Board of India & Cashew export promotion council.
During her visit, Hon’ble Minister will also be meeting with Hon’ble Minister of Food Security, Government of UAE to discuss ways and means to further enhance cooperation between the two countries in the field of food processing. The approximate value of the food trade between India and UAE is USD 1.4 billion with the major exports from India to UAE being Cereals; Edible fruit and nuts; Coffee, Tea and Spices; Vegetables; Sugar; Meat, Fish and Dairy.
