Press Release on visit of Minister of Steel, Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, Mr. H. D. Kumaraswamy to the United Arab Emirates.
Minister of Heavy Industries and Steel, Mr. H. D. Kumaraswamy led a delegation to the United Arab Emirates from 30 June-2 July 2025. The delegation included senior officials of the Ministry of Steel and CMDs/senior representatives of three leading Indian steel companies viz. Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), MECON Limited, and National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC).
During the visit, the Minister inaugurated Representative Offices of these companies in Dubai. The opening of offices in Dubai is reflective of GOIs priority of Indian steel companies expanding their global footprint and leveraging wider opportunities.
On June 30, the Minister held a productive meeting with His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, where the discussion focused on strengthening collaboration in steel sector. On July 1, the Minister met the Minister of Economy & Tourism of the UAE, His Excellency Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri, and discussed strengthening trade and economic relations between the two countries.
During the visit, the delegation met senior officials of RAK Port and visited quarries of Stevin Rock in Ras Al-Khaimah, as well as units of Emirates Global Aluminum and Conares Steel in Jebel Ali, Dubai. During the visit, Minister of Steel engaged with members of Karnataka Diaspora in UAE and participated in a round table of steel companies organized by IBPC Dubai.
The visit is part of regular high level exchanges between India and the UAE in recent years and strengthens the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
