Medical Repatriation

The Consulate provide assistance from Indian Community Welfare Fund (ICWF)  to  individual who requires financial support in their medical repatriation to India on a means tested and case-to-case basis subject to scrutiny of documents provided by the applicant.  Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) Card Holders are not eligible for such financial assistance from ICWF.

Following documents are required to process for approval for medical repatriation:

  1. Request Letter from the Family/ Applicant addressed to the Consulate stating why they are unable to meet the repatriation expenses of the patient;
  2. Financial Background of the Family/ Applicant
    (i) Last 6 months bank statements;
    (ii) Income Certificate with QR code issued by the concerned State Govt office in India;
  3. Medical reports from concerned hospital in UAE;
  4. Travel Fitness Certificates (Airline MEDIF);
  5. Acceptance letter from the receiving hospital in India (In stretcher cases only); &
  6. Passport & Visa copies of the patient.


Family member(s) of the bedridden/critically ill patient who requires support in medical repatriation to India may visit the Consulate or  send e-mail with all requisite documents:
