ADVISORY FOR INDIAN NATIONALS STRANDED IN THE UAE

In view of the ongoing regional situation and temporary airspace restrictions, the following advisory is issued for the information and guidance of Indian nationals currently in the UAE.

1. Suspension of Scheduled Flights

Due to the regional situation and restricted airspace, scheduled commercial flights are currently not operating. However, certain airlines are operating non-scheduled commercial flights to repatriate passengers stranded in Dubai.

Passengers are strongly advised not to proceed to airports unless they have been directly contacted by their airline and have received a confirmed departure time. Travelers should remain in close contact with their respective airlines for the latest updates regarding their travel arrangements.

2. Chartered / Non-Scheduled Flights

Various airlines are operating non-scheduled commercial flights, including chartered services. Passengers wishing to explore these options are advised to verify availability directly through the official websites of the respective airlines.

4. Visa Fine Waiver

UAE authorities have confirmed that visa fine waivers will apply to individuals affected by the airspace closure that began on 28 February 2026. Visas will be automatically extended and will remain valid until flight services resume.

Additionally, hotels have been directed to extend guests’ stays under the same terms and conditions as the original booking, without any increase in rates or changes to other conditions, in line with guidelines issued by the Department of Culture and Tourism, UAE.

Travelers are advised to contact their respective hotel authorities to arrange the extension of their stay accordingly.

5. Hotel Stay Issues

If you face issues during hotel stays while stranded:

Local authorities will intervene and provide assistance where required.

6. Travel via Land Route

Passengers considering travel via the Oman land route should verify visa requirements beforehand:

Travelers should note:

  • Expect possible congestion at border crossing points.
  • In addition to Hatta, crossings are also available via Al Ain.
  • Ensure the driver holds a valid visa for Oman and preferably has working knowledge of Arabic to facilitate immigration procedures.
