Journalist (J) Visa 

Journalist visa are issued to professional journalists and photographers for  up to three months stay in India. Foreign journalists visiting India for any other purposes, such as attending a conference or tourism, etc. should also  apply for a ‘J’ Visa. Visa Applicants need to apply online at http://www.indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/ and submit duly filled in and  signed print out of the application form at our Outsourcing agency (BLS) centre http://www.blsindiavisa-uae.com along with the following  documents: 

• Two recent photographs [51 x 51 mm] with white background; • Passport in original with photocopy of valid UAE residence visa page; • A letter from the organisation stating that the applicant is employed with  them and the purpose of applicant’s visit; 

• A letter from the organisation in India, where applicant will be working; • In case if the applicant is carrying cameras and other related  instruments, then, a detailed list of equipment to be provided; • The passport should have validity of more than 6 months; • There should be two blank pages facing each other. 

Applicants seeking ‘J’ visa are advised to contact the Press and Information wing(Email:press.dubai@mea.gov.in with copy: visasec.dubai@mea.gov.in ) of the CGI, Dubai including in the following cases, prior to submitting their  visa applications: 

• If intending to make a documentary or advertising film in India; • If intending to make a feature or commercial film for TV or cinema; • If intending to visit restricted or protected area; 

• If intending to go to India for more than three months. 

Applicants going to India as resident representatives of their newspapers,  TV organisations, etc. should also contact the Press and Information wing  (Email: press.dubai@mea.gov.in with copy: visasec.dubai@mea.gov.in ) of  the CGI, Dubai at the earliest.
