General Information on Visa:

  1. For travel to India, a regular/eVisa (except “On arrival visa” for some countries) along with passport is mandatory.

  1. Only categories (Official/Diplomatic Passport holders) exempted under bilateral arrangements may not need a visa. For details please visit: Visa Exemption / Waiver Agreements | Ministry of External Affairs Government of India .

  1. Visa is not required for OCI Card holders. OCI Cardholders shall be required to obtain a special permission in some cases. For updated information please see Activities requiring Special Permission.

E-visa:

  • Consulate cannot provide any additional information on the status of these applications.

For Regular visa

  • For applying for a Regular visa, the applicant must be resident of UAE.

  • The applicant has to apply online at http://www.indianvisaonline.gov.in. The printout of the application along with required documents and admissible fee are to be submitted in person at any visa outsourcing centres(BLS) in Dubai/Northern Emirates. Visa on Arrival

Visa on Arrival (VoA) can be availed by nationals of Japan, Republic of Korea(South Korea) and United Arab Emirates. VoA will be valid for entry and stay in India within the period of its validity subject to the conditions specified. The Immigration officer may grant a double entry VoA valid upto 60 days for business, tourism, conference and medical purposes. VoA is provided only at six designated International Airports namely, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Mumbai. VoA will be available only to those UAE nationals, who had earlier obtained e-Visa or Regular Visa for India irrespective of whether the person has visited India or not. For more detailed terms and condition please visit   Website: https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/visa-on-arrival.html . The applicant would be required to fill an application form (Annexure I). It is advisable to download it, print it, fill it and present the same to the 'Visa Officer' at visa counter on arrival. 

  1. No visa applications will be directly entertained at CGI, Dubai.

  1. In case of any emergency situation/concern, the same may be flagged at visasec.dubai@mea.gov.in. The consulate will examine and respond appropriately to these concerns. They will not be entertained in person at CGI, Dubai.

  1. Government of India has not authorized any agent or intermediary to charge any fee for facilitation of emergency/express Visa in respect of e-Visa.

  1. Nationals of Afghanistan may apply online for visas at: https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/avisa

  1. Important points for Regular Visa

  1. Two recent photographs of size 51 mm x 51 mm with white background of not more than six months old. (Paste one photo on the earmarked space of the application and staple another on the application form).

  1. Passport in original with photocopy of valid Emarati ID/valid UAE residence visa page.

  1. Travel itinerary or Hotel booking, should also be attached with the application.

Duly filled in application and signed print out of the application form should be submitted at our outsourcing centre(BLS, http://www.blsindiavisa-uae.com).

  • It is essential that applicants fill in their personal details as exactly available in their passports. Mismatch of any of the personal details would lead to non-acceptance of the application;

  • When applying for a visa, the Passport should be at least valid for 06 months or more;

  • The passport must have at least two blank pages facing each other and should not be Mutilated/ damaged/ tampered in any manner;

  • Visa application of Pakistan Nationals and Pakistan Origin foreign nationals will be processed subject to clearance from Govt. of India which may take an average of 60 days;

  • Validity of all visas is counted from the date of the issue of visa and not from the date of entry into India;

  • Visa processing fee once deposited shall not be refunded;

  • No bookings or travel arrangements should be confirmed until a visa decision has been made. Embassy will not be responsible for any loss of bookings made in anticipation of obtaining a Visa;

  • All Applicants applying for visa are requested to be present at the time of submission of Visa Application at Visa Application Center for capturing of Biometrics.
