Mr Satish Kumar Sivan
Consul General of India, Dubai

Mr Satish Kumar Sivan assumed charge as Consul General of India to Dubai and the Northern Emirates in October 2023. Mr. Satish Kumar Sivan is a career diplomat serving in Government of India for over two decades. 

At the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi, Mr. Sivan worked in various capacities handling relations with China, Korea and Mongolia; until his recent assignment as Joint Secretary handling two portfolios- 

1. Rapid Response Cell coordinating evacuation of Indian nationals and Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief, and 

2. Developmental Partnership Administration Division implementing India’s grant-in-aid projects in the neighbouring countries. 

He has also served in the Indian Embassies in Beijing, Washington DC and as the Deputy Chief of Mission in Seoul. 

Mr Satish Kumar Sivan holds a Masters Degree from the University of Madras. Mr. Sivan is trained in Chinese (Mandarin). He is married to Ms Uma Parvathi Sivanesan and the couple have a son.
