Medical / Medical Attendant Visa:
REQUIREMENTS:
Visa Applicants need to apply online (MED-1) at https://www.indianvisaonline.gov.in and submit duly filled in and signed print out of the application form at our Outsourcing agency(BLS) centre (http://www.blsindiavisa-uae.com) along with:
• Two 51 x 51 mm recent passport size photographs;
• Passport in original and photocopy of the passport along with the visa page;
• A referral letter or preliminary medical advice from the hospital in UAE, recommending specialized medical treatment abroad;
• Letter from the medical hospital in India, indicating appointment or showing willingness to undertake treatment.
GUIDELINES
• Applicant should have assured financial standing (return ticket and availability of sufficient money to spend during his/her stay in India including the expenses for medical treatment);
• Persons from Yellow Fever (YF) endemic countries (or if he/she has visited any Yellow Fever (YF) endemic country during past 6 days) will be required to possess a valid certificate of Yellow Fever vaccination from an authorized vaccination center.
• Attendant/family members of the patient coming to India for medical treatment shall be granted Medical Attendant (MED-2) visa co terminus with the 'Medical Visa' of the patient. Such visa may be granted to the spouse/children or to those who have blood relations with the patient;
• Foreign nationals visiting on 'Medical visa (MED-1) ' of more than 180 days will be required to get themselves registered with in a period of 14 days of arrival in India with the concerned FRROs/ FROs.
DURATION
The initial period of such a visa will be for six months or for the period of treatment, however, in case the duration of the visa is more than180 days, applicants are required to get themselves registered within 14 days of arrival in India with the concerned FRROs/FROs. Unlike the tourist visa, this can be
extended in India, with supporting medical documents.
