‘Study in India’ is the latest initiative of Govt. of India to partner with 100 odd high-quality Indian institutions (high on NIRF Rank and NAAC Accreditation Scores) to make India a preferred destination for overseas students. A powerpoint presentation was done by Mr. Diptiman Das, CMD of EdCIL India Ltd., the only Central Public sector undertaking under ministry of HRD, Govt. of India, and the implementation partner of Study in India initiative.

The objective of “Study in India” is to boost the inbound international students in India double India’s share of  global education experts, to improve the soft power of India and use it as a tool in diplomacy and to showcase India as an ‘affordable, high quality’ education destination.

Mr. Das informed that very soon a portal called www.studyinindia.gov.in would be launched to enable students from Dubai and other overseas destinations to apply and select from 100 Indian institutions for different courses. ‘Study in India’ campaign would also engage with foreign students through a larger social media branding and facilitation, the portal being a one stop solution for overseas students who wish to Study in India.
